3. Saving and Using Web Pages

 

When you find Web pages that you want to save orview later in the classroom, here are two simple ways to quickly save them:

  1. Go to the page that you want to save.
  2. From the menu bar, select File, then SaveAs. The Save Web Page dialog box will appear.
  3. In area labeled Save In, select the location where you want to save yourpage.
  4. In the box labeled File Name, enter aname for your file.
  5. In the box labeled Save As Type, choose Web page, complete (*.htm, *html). It allows you to save the page to a folder on your drive, as well as allthe graphics, sounds, and additional files (Java).

SurfSaver

SurfSaver is a free browser add-0n that allows users to store Web pages directly from their browsers into searchablefolders. Once saved, users can quickly search and browse these pages,even when they are not connected to the Internet. It is a powerfultool for students collecting and organizing Web-based research. Thisproduct is only available for use on Windows - PC machines. A Macintoshversion is not available at this time.
