The internet sites found listed below are the
result of work completed by teachers who attended
the Generation II: MASER project during the
1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005
and 2006 Summer Workshops. Workshop participants
researched mathematics Internet sites using
a set of developed evaluation criteria. A set
of Internet learning activities for teachers
and students were developed which correlated
directly with State of
Michigan Mathematics Standards and Benchmarks.
The result is that teachers and students will
be able to use the Internet resources as a learning
tool which is fully integrated with their mathematics
curriculums. Click here
for more background information on the project.
Listed in the tables found below are links
to Internet sites organized under major mathematics curriculum
areas: Elementary Internet Sites; Middle School Internet Sites; High
School Internet Sites
Each Internet site is listed under the
Mathematics Benchmark that it meets. At the beginning of each
listed benchmark is a link to the online Mathematics MICLiMB
document. The MICLiMB document will provide you with an overview
of the benchmark; a benchmark clarification; a classroom assessment
example; a MEAP-like item; links to additional web-based resources;
standard references and a listing of related benchmarks.
The General Mathematic
Sites found in the table below are Internet sites that do not meet
specific Mathematics benchmarks. Listed are numerous outstanding sites
which contain resources that might be useful to teachers. The
Major Topics are: Mathematics Games and Student Activities; Mathematics
Lesson Plans; Directories to Math Sites; Interactive Learning and
Problem Solving Activities; and Word Searches and Puzzles. The
"general sites" table also contains links to mathematics media
resources, multiple subject indexes, women and minorities issues,
careers in mathematics, information about using Internet media
resources and other general information.
Internet sites "New"
to the disk this year are marked and sites found by participants to be "Outstanding" are also
identified.
